Your connection with the sky

Passion for Flying

Basically, isn't that what brings YOU here too? We are all passionate about flying, aviation and/or airplanes in one way or other. I have been away for awhile. I guess that happens to many of us from time to time. Life is difficult on many and it takes more time these days to scrape a living together. But that just leaves even a larger NEED for a passion.

And that's why I think you will just LOVE the short video about the Tiger Boys and Girl that's available from the WhyFly.aero website that was recently opened. Check out the Tiger Boys and Girl article here and DO run that video. There are lots more interesting stories by interesting people there and I think a subscription is more than worth it. Give them a try and click here for more information.

The people writing on that site can REALLY tell you what flying is about and especially WHY we... and YOU!?.... do it and so it is a great complement to the Let's go Flying initiative and this blog here!

  1. Let’s Go Flying. What a cute phrase. The dream of flying is in just about any young person’s mind when they see a plane or an airport. When I was finally about to start lessons to fly, life came a long and other family matters become a higher priority. As I grew up the dream of flying never was far from my thoughts and hopes of one day getting behind the stick and taking off to soar above the rest of the world. Being able to look down in a more 3-D world than the flat roads we often drive. Now that I’m at a point in my life where I can pursue my lifelong dream, I am finding it more difficult than I would have ever imagined. Cost? Even though it is high in today’s economic times, I can swing this. Time? No problem. I am available most weekdays and weekends. It seems the biggest problem I have faced is getting any of the Flight Training Schools to take even a little bit of interest. I have visited, written, and phoned numerous FTC, CFI’s and Flying clubs to find out who has a passion about flying and teaching. I understand it is a job to be a CFI and the time and effort on their part must be tremendous. If I was looking for a House, car or even a Washing Machine, I know the people in their industry would be overly eager to help and try to win my business and loyalty. I don’t want to sound as if I want to be coddled or stroked in anyway, just someone that shows a true interest. I have belonged to AOPA for over two years. During this time I have heard so many requests for the past two AOPA presidents talking about the passion of flying and let’s get more people flying. This year is supposed to be the “Year of Engagement”. Mr. Fuller wants everyone in GA to step up and become actively engaged with their community leaders. Sounds good but maybe you should start by trying to earnestly return phone calls and take time to “recruit” new pilots. Let’s go flying will be your answer. It is just another Program that looks good on paper.

    Hi
I am passionate about flying and i have taken a project to make the people wish true who are passionate about flying and that too free of cost.

Can anybody guide me, how to make it possible.

I have talked to couple of pilots and pilots informed me that they have few concerns when they are flying a plane and those concerns needs to be considered by Air Traffic controller and Maintenance people behind Aviation field.

We can enroll people engaged in Aviation field and make them fly a plane so that they will have a hand on experience to handle Air traffic.

  3. There is definately a lot to know about this subject. I love all of the points you made.
