I agree that the origional paint was better. I think you should’ve used the same paint design, but do it all over with new shiny pait. Now that would look NICE! The paint job makes it lose it’s Skylane look. Although, great job with it!

I also own a ’74 C-182 in the original scheme and the same colors as the AOPA plane. 20 some years ago the paint was badly faded and the previous owner was looking high and low as to what colors and scheme to repaint in. In the end, she had the plane stripped and repainted back in the original factory colors. I do not regret that decision today, and think the scheme still looks great.

Yep the other three were pretty cluttered looking. This was the best scheme of the choices given. I’m not one to look a gift horse in the mouth though. If I win they can put whatever paint job they want on it. They can paint an ad for horse manure on the side if they want. I’ll still be thrilled.

I have to agree with Alex L. Seems to be a lot of this kind of stuff with the “Give Aways”. i.e. turbo normalizing a plane won by someone in Denver, glass cockpit Cardinal to an instructor in glass panel instruction, Bonanza to a Doctor. Oops, guess I just lost my chance of winning.

No 3 was the only way to go. the others are so cluttered you lose the plane. And I not just saying this because I have a similar pattern on my recently painted ’69 182 N69UT.
