Saturday’s Cross Country
Just like I promised, here is the plan for my first cross country with Dana. My flight will consist of Flying from Westosha in Wilmot, Wisconsin, west to Monroe Airport in Monroe , then North to Watertown Airport in Watertown, then back south to good ‘ol Westosha. The trip will be about 155 nautical miles (178 regular miles) and should take a little bit under two hours. I tried a sample flight plan with the winds coming from the Northwest at 28 knots and got an average ground speed of 93 knots. With those winds, the trip should take 1 hour and 42 minutes. Saturday morning though, all those numbers will change (due to the winds) so I need to make sure to get up extra early to plan out my navigation log based on the winds. Like usual, I’ll post my lesson shortly after.
Thanks for reading!!!

Have fun on your x-country. You can also verify your in route ground speed calculations by getting a speed check from flight following if you don't have a gps available.
