		<description><![CDATA[Helicopters with skids can also surface taxi, and not as unusual as one would think. In fact, at a particular training facility I flew from, where clearance was tight, ground taxi was the SOP for getting out of parking spot to taxi line. Hard surfaces also advised for this as well.

A bit more power and pedal skills required than wheels I would imagine (never taxied a wheeled helicopter), and a bit rough on the skid shoes as well, but a very effective way to taxi. Running takeoffs in skid-equipped aircraft also require being able to &quot;ground run&quot; with skids, so overall an useful skill to have.]]></description>
