Back in the early 1990s, I too had an opportunity to ride along in a police helicopter -- which immediately led me to sign up for transition training and to eventually add the rotorcraft/helicopter rating to my fixed wing Commercial Pilot certificate.  A few months later, I also added the helicopter instrument rating.  Now, I&#039;m thinking about adding the helicopter rating to my CFII.  It all started with my ride in a Bell 206L over Dade County, near Miami, Florida.
