The iconic B-17 was known as the Flying Fortress because of the amount of defensive firepower it carried. This one is flown by the Liberty Foundation and is painted in the colors of the Memphis Belle (it was used in the filming of that 1990 movie as well). When a warbird is in the neighborhood, you know it’s going to be a great day. This Curtiss P-40 Warhawk is operated by the Liberty Foundation, which was bringing it and a B-17 Flying Fortress to Martin State Airport in Baltimore as part of a traveling tour.—Jill W. Tallman
