I read your post with great interest. Having been in the airline industry for more than 20 years, I too have been through the ups and downs. I started out with Mesa Airlines, then was hired at America West Airlines in 1996. What a great airline that was. We had our problems, but I loved going to work. Now I find myself mixed up with the worst airline in the country, U S Airways. I never wanted to work for this company.

I could not agree with you more that seniority is everything to an airline pilot. In my case, I am having to fight for mine in court. Never let go of your number and never let anyone take it away without a fight.

tell me about it I lost seniority 3 times at UAL when they took over Pan Ams Pacific routes, then the London Hub and brought back F/A's that were fired when they got married or gained weight!(they won their cases in court)

WE even chose our crew meals in SENIORITY order!!

What an industry. They should have a Training Class on Seniority and its True meaning befor anyone begins their career.
