Why do you go to events such as AirVenture in Oshkosh? Is it to stand in a long line just to walk through an Airbus, like these people are doing?
Nothing against Jet Blue, but I go to airshows to catch up on industry news, talk with other pilots, and see cool airplanes. Boeing and Airbus airliners can be cool in their own right, especially when you’re the person flying the airplane (or flying the simulator). But one of the reasons that I fly general aviation airplanes is to avoid lines like this.
Maybe these folks were just seeking a few minutes in the air conditioning, and a respite from the heat of the ramp….

The Jet Blue visitor is a E190, not an A320.

Personally, Mike, I go to OSH for the cheesecake at the Brooklyn Grill!! …and to watch the sun set behind the step-taxiing Husky at the seaplane base…and the Leiney Sunset Wheat…and the Breezy rides with Arnie…and the Raptor…aw hell, I go for it all!

(disclaimer – yes I AM a JetBlue Pilot)
1 – It’s not an Airbus, it’s an Embraer E190
2 – The next generation of airline pilots need to come from somewhere. The two pilots who flew the E190 in got their start in EAA Young Eagles. Nothing wrong to motivate young people, to show them what can be achieved. Worse things tan becoming a full time aviator for a living.
3 – The E190 is one of the most advanced airliners out there, again, lets share the technology
For some, ho hum, for some it’s exciting (especially if they’ve never seen the type). Your analysis is almost the same comment that could be made about when the Airline Heritage Museum (Save-A-Connie) brought the TWA Constellation ot OSH. Or an Air Force C17…
For EAA and GA to thrive, we need to have a dialogue across the whole aviation community
