F-16 video shows pilot’s courage

February 10, 2012 by Alton K. Marsh, Senior Editor, AOPA Pilot

Years ago during Desert Storm and the initial attack on Iraq, this F-16 pilot was attacked not once but six times by ground-fired missiles. All too often we thank returning service men and women for their service without really wanting to know the details. Here are the details. Thanks to the Flight Aware newsletter for linking to this.

    Hi Al,

What a touching post. These pilots are truly courageous heroes. I love your blog and would like to feature AOPA Pilot on FindTheBest’s blog comparison. I have some aviation directories I have been working on that I would like to share with you as well, as I think you and your readers would find them very resourceful. These directories include complete databases of pilots and airmen, aircraft reference, and aircraft registration. I would love to send you these links — would you please contact me at mfunk(at) and I can get you this information?
