For some tasty and more local (and slightly healthier) fare at Ardy & Ed's, I like the perch! Leon's has great frozen custard, and Dr. Benzie's has tasty pizza.
Another option for similar food is Leon's Frozen Custard on 121 W. Murdock. Lots of neon, and the 50's atmosphere with car hops (but no roller skates). I believe the menu is more limited, and there's no lake view. The service is quick though since it doesn't get as much of the convention crowd. Click on the link for their web site.
