I never wanted to identify myself as a student, my goal was to do everything well enough that no one would suspect. Our local tower controllers knew, of course, and to their credit they provided a little extra help when they thought it might be needed. I did once identify myself as a student by way of explanation for some terrible CTAF calls on a solo X-C. Many congratulations to Kristen and I hope we’ll get updates as she progresses and earns her certificate.
