Incumbents, Look Out

Tuesday, August 2nd, 2011

As I have traveled around the country, it has been impossible to miss the concern Americans have for what is happening in Washington.

Our friends at United Technologies work with the National Journal to measure public opinion.  Their most recent effort is reported in this morning’s National Journal electronic news bulletin with the following story….

WATCH OUT, INCUMBENTS. Americans are deeply dissatisfied with Washington and eager to elect fresh faces to congress, a United Technologies/National Journal Congressional Connection Poll reveals. And that old adage about Americans hating Congress but not their own representative may no longer hold. A majority of those responding to the poll said that, even when it comes to their own member of Congress, it is “time to give a new person a chance.”
